MIKE VALLELY: BATTLE COMMANDER!

Mike Vallely iconic pro skater and vocalist of Revolution Mother has been named the Battle Commander! Each month Skating filmmaker extraordinaire The Berrics film a skate pro for an original video that they dub The Battle Commander. Though Vallely (Aka Mike V) has been professional for over twenty years this is his first truly focused traditional skate video segment since the late eighties. Commenting on the video which went live today Vallely said “For the past fifteen years I’ve been an ambassador and promoter for my sport. While many of my peers were working on producing skate video after video or posing for pictures in a magazine I’ve been representing live and in person doing demonstrations and appearances. Though people have documented me skating I haven’t focused on a traditional skate video until now. I have spent the hours on the maneuvers, blood has been spilt, bruises have been taken and it’s a good representation of my work.”

The video is cut to the song Runaway Train by Revolution Mother which is Vallely’s other passion. Serving as vocalist to the band Vallely and his bandmates have recently released their second full-length Rollin’ With Tha Mutha on July 7th. The music is chock full of galloping dirty rock with punk ferocity and hardcore power. Exclaim! Magazine called the band “the perfect collection of miscreants to fill those great shoes vacated by hardcore punks Discharge” and “It’s one of few releases from a newbie band that merits instant credibility, as it’s performed by the kind of dudes you really want on your side of any potential battle.”

The band will appear as the musical act on nationally broadcast Fuel TV’s The Daily Habit on Monday, July 27th. In addition audiences throughout the country recently got a dose of the band when seeing the major motion picture The Hangover. The song Ride The Sky II is featured in a scene which also has Vallely making an appearance.
